• 3 Matters Arising

None.

• 4 Increasing Membership

• Two new members from St Nicks via Simone – RG to add to email list and Simone to ask them to sign up formally.
• Put something in the noticeboard re joining
• Stand at fete specifically to ask people to join up
• Events where we are a visible presence with obvious logos and names on. Litter picking etc and ask for volunteers – need scheduled dates
• Put in Church notices too
• More press articles before and after any event we do
• Facebook page – add stuff re new members
• Distribute leaflets at the school re the fete
• Mailshot to local people when we do the fete leaflets. Simone has some leaflets from last year that we could use – see how many more we need.
• Tuesday night 23rd June for leafleting – meet at 7.30pm at the Boars

• 5 Park/Garden

• Brian to finish the bench before the fete.
• Use ‘spar’ (rockery rocks) from Bolton Street in the raised beds. Geoff and Janet to arrange.
• Garden tidying dates (including moving the small lollipop evergreen from the top of the garden by the defib).
• RG to get prices for formal sign in garden to say it is maintained by the group and RBC (Limelight Signs and Studio 51).
• Thursday 18th June 7.30pm with backup of 25th June at 7.30pm. Meet in the garden.
• Geoff kindly said he would mow the lawn before the fete.

• 6 Defib Update and Training

• Need to RSVP to make sure we have enough people; not too many (20-25).
• Could also have an event at the Methodist Church – speak to Shirley about this and try to arrange dates.

• 7 New Kirk Fair

• Shirley trying to get ASDA funding for a gazebo for the event.
• Stalls – tombola, book stall, Julia’s bottles, bran tub (Simone organising this with wrapped gifts).
• Need to collect the following:
• Books
• Bottles (empty and full)
• Tombola prizes
• Cake stall
• Raffle prizes – Iain has got some, but need more for this. Print these on the tickets. Natalie to put something forward from the shop. Need to let Simone know within a week so we have time to get tickets printed.
• Raffle (have got a licence for this) so we can sell tickets at any time of the year and before the event.
• Need to do a leaflet/newsletter to take to the businesses. SC to create it; RG to circulate.
• Collect all the items and keep hold of them until the day before.
• Date for meeting before the event to be arranged.
• Posters and leaflets – Iain to arrange these.

• 8 Future Socials

• Harriet (singer) at the Boars 13th June from 6pm.
• PROVISIONAL EVENT- Family Halloween party at the Boars Saturday 31st October. TBC

• 9 Youth Issues

• Issues at Brandwood a few weeks ago and stealing/throwing wood at properties on Bolton St. Also smashed car windows on Staghills and trespass onto the bowling green.
• RG to find who the PCSO is and invite them to our meetings. Also make them aware of the issues. Make them aware of youth club on Burnley Road East and at Whitewell Bottom Community Centre.
• RG to get posters/info from Sue at Maden Centre about the youth night on Thursdays to display in the noticeboard.

• 10 Relay for Life, Rossendale

• Saturday 20/21st June. Simone is doing this for the Guides. SC to forward the link for sponsorship.
• Paddy Marriott doing the race too (in a team already).
• Do we want to have a stand there on the day? Sell raffle tickets? Membership forms? Photos etc?
• Simone has ‘waxed bag’ for candles if anyone wants to write a message on them. She will take to the event and they are lit at dusk around the track so everyone can see them and read the messages. Volunteers? Contact Simone

• 11 AOB

• Paddy has offered to do a fundraising quiz for the Christmas lights at the Boars on a Wednesday. Paddy to arrange dates with Margaret.
• Larger bin in the community garden? With a lid? Waste blows out and its often full. RG to ask.
• New bin on Greendale Avenue for waste? Path to Seat Naze is full of dog mess. RG to ask the question.
• RG to put Geoff in touch with Lee Childs re the feeder pillar. Can we get electricity from this for our events?

• NEW KIRK FAIR- Saturday 4th July
• Tuesday 8th September 2015 at 7.30 – AGM followed by regular meeting
• Wednesday 18th November 2015 at 7.30pm – regular meeting Others
• Delivering leaflets re fete Tuesday 23rd June – meet at the Boars at 7.30pm.
• End June – New Kirk Fair Meeting – date to be confirmed, just before the event.
